King Albert I Memorial Foundation
The King Albert I Memorial Foundation was established in 1993 as a Swiss foundation in memory of the mountaineer and Belgian King Albert I (1875–1934).
Every two years, the foundation presents the Albert Mountain Award, consisting of a medal, certificate and cash prize, to individuals and institutions that have rendered outstanding services in any field related to the mountains of the world.
