Panorama from Piz Lagalb to the Bernina massif. In 1907, the king climbed Piz Bernina (second peak from the right). In the same year, on 1 July, together with his wife Elisabeth and guides Martin Schocher and Benedikt Supersaxo, he made the first ascent of the north-east ridge of Piz Caral (3,421 m): the long rocky ridge on the first peak on the left.
